Cypress.io adds Adam Gross, former Heroku CEO, as first independent advisor

May 7, 2019

ATLANTA, May 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cypress.io, the next generation automated testing framework used by software developers and QA engineers to test web applications, announces today that Adam Gross, former CEO of platform-as-a-service provider Heroku, has joined the company as an investor and its first independent advisor.

“Adam brings extensive experience creating and scaling products that developers love. He has unparalleled knowledge of the developer tools, cloud, and SaaS market,” said Drew Lanham, CEO. “He also brings clarity on how to grow and evolve products that are relevant to individuals and enterprises. Adam’s experience aligning product and marketing will be a major asset to Cypress’ next phase of growth.”

Prior to Heroku, Adam co-founded and led CloudConnect, which was purchased by Heroku in 2013. He has also held executive marketing and product leadership roles at Dropbox, Salesforce.com, and as a startup founder. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Adam serves as an investor and advisor to a variety of technology companies, including Pantheon, Docker, and Mattermost.

Using Cypress’ JavaScript framework, developers can simply create end-to-end tests for complex scenarios such as e-commerce, complex user workflows, and single-page applications with complex user interactions. The Test Runner software and Dashboard service enable live execution of tests, recording screenshots, video, and test run history, and seamlessly integrates with existing developer tools and processes.

“The growing ubiquity and importance of JavaScript is clear to the developers and engineering leaders at the smallest startups and largest enterprises.” said Adam Gross. “JavaScript’s power also brings complexity, making it challenging for teams to consistently create performant and high-quality experiences. Cypress is providing a path to navigate this new space, making it easier for organizations to be successful with JavaScript.”

With over 10 million downloads and users in over 90 countries, Cypress.io is the leader in browser-based test automation for the modern web. Cypress enables developers and enterprises to easily, quickly, and accurately test anything that runs in the browser, empowering developers to build modern web applications faster, better.
