December 7, 2018

Seniors living in the Lake Houston area can now have an experienced chef come to their homes and prepare customized meals for the week.

Chefs for Seniors started in 2013 and is a private meal preparation service which specializes in providing companionship while the chefs prepare the meals in the home of the client.

Chefs prepare high quality, affordable and fresh meals using ingredients found in the local grocery store while offering a fun interactive experience.

Clients can select meals the menu provided, which can be customized to the client’s dietary needs.

Some items offered on the menu include chicken pot pie, swordfish with roasted peppers, classic meatloaf, curry egg salad and Italian chicken meatballs. All menu items are low sodium, diabetic friendly and gluten free.

Chefs for Seniors is offered in several states across the country.

North Houston Franchise Owner Shonah Jefferson said many clients that have been using the service have seen signs of weight loss and health improvements.

Jefferson said the other franchise owners she has spoken to have mentioned they have formed really close relationships with their clients.

“(The franchisees) adore it. I’ve talked to them and a lot of them, they’ve been chefs for about 25 to 30 years and they say this is the best thing they’ve ever done,” Jefferson said.

Weekly meal plans begin at $125 for entrees with 10-12 servings. Additional costs may apply for special dietary needs.

To schedule an appointment call Shonah Jefferson at 832-956-1848 or visit the Chefs for Seniors website.
