Man gets prison time for 2 heroin-related arrests in 1 month
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Pittsfield man is heading to prison after he was arrested on heroin charges twice within one month last year.
The Berkshire Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1KHXZDk ) 25-year-old Nicholas Konton was sentenced Monday to up to 5 ½ years in prison. He pleaded guilty to distribution of heroin, possession of heroin and related offenses.
Authorities say police arrested Konton after they observed him selling heroin three times in a series of controlled purchases in May 2015. Police say they found 110 bags of heroin and four cellphones in his vehicle when they arrested him.
He was arrested again in June after police say they spotted what appeared to be drug activity between two cars in a parking lot. Konton was found with about $320 and 70 bags of heroin on him.
