Janene Weiland, 78, formerly of Columbus

Janene A. Weiland, 78, a resident of the Meadows of Fall River, formerly of Columbus, was called to her home in heaven by her lord and savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

Janene was born the daughter of Merlin and Sylva (Latham) Sutton on Aug. 21, 1940, in Beaver Dam. She was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Janene was married to Roger L. Weiland on Sept. 27, 1958.

Janene was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She loved spending time at her family’s events. Janene’s proudest achievement was being mother to her three boys.

Janene is survived by her sons, Roger (Tamara) Weiland of Columbus, Steve (Carol) Weiland of Milton, and Dan (Laurie) Weiland of Fall River; her two brothers, Lonnie (Julie) Sutton of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and Bill (Chris) Sutton of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Stefanie (Jeremiah) Brannan, Brady Weiland, Bryce Weiland, Brett Weiland, Cameron Weiland, and Caitlin Weiland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger in 2000; and a brother Merlin in infancy.

A visitation will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus on Friday, March 15, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Tim Schwartz will officiate. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus to be used at the discretion of the church council.
