Oh, for a good quality ice cream consisting of cream, milk, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla -- period.
I suspect the original recipe that brought fame and renown to Babcock vanilla ice cream was closer to that formula than the ingredients used today. Discerning people might find today’s Babcock ice cream objectionable for more reasons than the beef gelatin.
