Havasu woman arrested after alleged hit-and-run
A Lake Havasu City woman was arrested Sept. 30 on charges of aggravated assault, hit-and-run and DUI after she allegedly struck a several victims at a McCulloch Boulevard business. According to the police report, security guards attempted to prevent Sarah E. Huerta, 22, from driving after she was observed to be intoxicated.
Two security guards approached her open door and Huerta accelerated, knocking both to the ground, the report said. Huerta allegedly struck another vehicle as she left the scene. Huerta was later located at a Mesquite Boulevard address and taken into custody.
Huerta refused to provide a breath sample to determine her level of intoxication, the report said, and police obtained a warrant to retrieve a blood sample for testing.
