DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — The Latest on the investigation into a mass shooting in Ohio that killed nine (all times local):

5:30 p.m.

A coroner in Ohio says eight of the nine people killed by a gunman last weekend were shot multiple times.

The results released Friday by the Montgomery County coroner’s office also show that the shooter who was killed by police died from several gunshots.

Police say officers in Dayton fatally shot the gunman, 24-year-old Connor Betts, less than 30 seconds into the rampage early Sunday.

Among the victims was his 22-year-old sister.

Authorities have not yet released a motive.

A school district says it won’t release student records for the man who opened fire in an Ohio entertainment district, killing nine people and injuring dozens more.

Local authorities and the FBI are investigating why 24-year-old Connor Betts started shooting early Sunday in the Oregon District neighborhood in Dayton. His sister was among the victims.

Betts is a 2013 graduate of nearby Bellbrook High School. Classmates say he was suspended for compiling lists of students he wanted to rape or kill.

Numerous media organizations including The Associated Press have requested Betts’ student records.

Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District officials said Friday there’s not “sufficient basis” to violate student confidentiality by releasing the records.

They also say some published statements about Betts aren’t entirely accurate.

Emergency calls and radio traffic from the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, last weekend provide a window into a chaotic scene as strangers sought help for the wounded and emergency responders tried to sort out whether there was a second shooter.

A caller in a tavern reported a masked man outside, firing what “looked like a rifle” in a popular nightlife area. Another living nearby said she awoke to the sound of about 30 gunshots. Yet another pleaded for an ambulance at a different bar, where someone was shot and bleeding from the head.

Dispatchers assured them police were responding.

Police say officers in the area fatally shot the gunman less than 30 seconds into the rampage. They say he killed nine adults, including his sister.

The motive remains unclear.
