BISMARCK, N.D. _ Members of a U.S. House subcommittee hold a field hearing on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation to discuss American Indian voting rights issues in the Dakotas. North Dakota’s voter identification requirements have led to two federal lawsuits by tribes and became a huge issue during last November’s general election because many Native Americans allege the rules discriminate against them and suppress their vote.
