Water supply focus of planned city work session
The Lake Havasu City Council will hear from water experts next week in a discussion about the city’s water supply.
Lake Havasu City Water Resources Coordinator Doyle Wilson will lead the City Council work session, discussing issues including the Colorado River, a history of the city’s water acquisitions, water firmed at the Arizona Water Banking Authority, water reuse efforts, consumption statistics and water conservation efforts.
“I will be stressing the need for the city’s continued association with the Mohave County Water Authority,” Wilson said. “Also included in the presentation are current efforts the city is doing to help make our water use more efficient and provide recommendations for future efforts.”
Water supply, possible shortages and the development of the Lower Basin Drought Contingency Plan also will be discussed at the work session, Wilson said.
The City Council work session is set for 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Lake Havasu City Council Chambers, at 2360 McCulloch Blvd.
