Busts inside Colorado Capitol vandalized

January 27, 2019

DENVER (AP) — Police are investigating the overnight vandalism of busts on display inside the Colorado Capitol building.

Denver Police spokesman Jay Casillas says the damaged busts were discovered when firefighters responded to a fire alarm at about 5 a.m. Sunday.

Casillas says no suspects were found and there were no signs of forced entry into the building.

In addition, he says it’s still unclear if anything was stolen.

No other details, including the number of statues damaged or destroyed, were immediately available.
