ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ The Anaheim Angels, plagued by injury problems at catcher, activated Jorge Fabregas from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

The move came a day after the team put catcher Jose Molina on the disabled list because of a broken left thumb.

Molina’s brother, Benjie, the Angels’ starting catcher, has been on the DL since May 5 with a strained right hamstring.

Fabregas, 31, became the starting catcher when Benjie Molina was injured, but he went on the disabled list May 7 because of inflammation in his right elbow. Fabregas has played in seven games and is hitting .211 with one homer and four RBIs.

Catcher Shawn Burke, who joined the Angels on May 8, was recalled Monday from Triple-A Salt Lake to fill Molina’s roster spot. Burke had been sent to Salt Lake a day earlier to make room for Fabregas.
