Police said he grabbed a large container of rubbing alcohol and poured it on the woman, who is six months pregnant. Somehow, he lit her on fire.
A friend rushed the woman to a local hospital, Jahanara said. She is being treated in the intensive care unit of the San Antonio Medical Center, a family member posted on Facebook.
She had second-degree burns to her arms and her legs, Jahanara said. Her hair also caught on fire.

She and the baby are expected to survive, the family member said.
Hoover, who has a lengthy criminal history, will likely face a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, a first-degree felony, Jahanara said.
