Chisox’ Thomas Has Foot Surgery
CHICAGO (AP) _ Chicago White Sox designated hitter Frank Thomas had surgery Monday on his right foot, and the team said it was successful.
Thomas, who will begin rehabilitation next week, had a bone spur removed from his right ankle and a corn removed from a toe. He will wear a cast for one week before starting his rehab.
Thomas finished with a .305 average, 15 homers and 77 RBIs, stopping a streak of eight consecutive seasons with 20 or more home runs.
``I just think mechanically his swing is not where it was a few years ago,″ Chicago general manager Ron Schueler said.
