LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nicole Kubik scored a career-high 36 points as No. 24 Nebraska opened an 18-point halftime lead and went on to beat No. 23 Kansas 82-62 Saturday night.

Nebraska (14-4, 3-2 Big 12) held Kansas star Lynn Pride to three points in the first half and forced her to commit seven of the Jayhawks’ 20 first-half turnovers.

Kansas (13-5, 3-2) trailed 20-17 after Jennifer Jackson hit a jumper with 8:31 left in the half. Then Kubik started a 22-7 Nebraska run with a four-point play, hitting a free throw after sinking a 3-pointer.

Kubik was 16-of-18 from the foul line, setting Nebraska records for free throws attempted and made.

Nebraska held Kansas to 31 percent shooting in the first half, while hitting 50 percent of its own shots.

Lynn Pride scored 19 points for Kansas, which never got closer than 17 in the second half.
