Man sentenced to 3 years for drug and pistol possession
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man has been sentenced to three years in prison in relation to drug and firearm offenses.
Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Steele was sentenced in federal court in Hartford on Monday for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon on three-year probation.
In April, a jury also found Steele guilty of possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and fentanyl.
He was previously convicted in April 2016 for possessing a pistol without a permit, and sentenced to 18 months of incarceration for that conviction. He was released after just over a year.
Steele has been detained since his arrest in June 2017. An attorney for Steele was not immediately available for comment.
