BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) _ A Filipino woman on her way home from Kuwait gave birth to a son on board a Kuwait Airways jetliner, a Filipino nurse who aided in the delivery said Sunday.

Mrs. Edna Q. Tabion, 28, gave birth on Saturday, about three hours after the Manila-bound plane took off from Kuwait, said nurse Elizabeth Babiera. Ms. Babiera said a Swedish doctor who was on board also took part in the delivery.

The plane then made a scheduled stop in Bangkok, where the mother and baby were admitted to a hospital, the nurse said.

Mrs. Tabion and her husband both work in Kuwait.

Ms. Babiera said the baby was named Marcolline, after the doctor, Mario Moulon, and the pilot, Colin Malcolm Fenning of Britain.
