U.S. Border Fence Plan Draws Criticism

MEXICO CITY (AP) _ The foreign ministers of Mexico and several Central American nations slammed the U.S. plan to build hundreds of miles of tripled-layered fence on it’s southern border.

In a joint news conference in Mexico City late Thursday, the ministers from Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Mexico said that building walls was not the way to solve problems between neighboring nations.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate approved a proposal to build 370 miles of triple-layer fencing, along parts of Mexico and the United States’ common border.
