HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine presented its incoming students with their white coats Friday evening at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center during its annual White Coat Ceremony.

The Class of 2022 consists of 79 students, 13 of whom are the first to participate in the university’s Accelerated BS/MD program. The program allows students to complete requirements for both a bachelor of science and doctor of medicine degrees in seven years.

The White Coat Ceremony has been a tradition at Marshall since 1996.
