Jerome Nordness, 91, Fall River

Jerome “Joe” Obert Nordness, 91, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Larson House.

He was born July 22, 1927, in Windsor, the son of Obert and Ester (Hellingson) Nordness. Joe went to East High School, served in the United States Navy, and married Iris Flick on Nov. 20, 1948.

Joe worked as a carpenter for more than 30 years in the Madison area and was a life member of the Oxford VFW Post 6003. He enjoyed bowling, dancing and listening to big band music. Joe also liked to garden and play horseshoes.

He is survived by daughters, Peggy (Emmett) Grady and Sue Nordness; son, Mike Nordness; brothers, Ordell (Inky) Nordness and Russ Nordness; sister, Genny Castagnas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Craig Nordness and David Nordness; sister, Celoris Hinz; three brothers, Eugene Nordness, Gerald Nordness and LaVern Nordness; and very special friends, Faye Newbury and Marcella McMillen.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
