VINSON-Vinson’s Lady Tigers are rolling through county playing with a pair of wins over Ceredo-Kenova and Wayne to keep their undefeated record alive.

Holley Rigg’s 17-point performance led Vinson’s charge over C-K 48-24.

Hallie Bailey’s five point first quarter gave Vinson an early 15-9 first quarter lead despite Rianne Henson’s five points for the Wonders.

Riggs gave the extra boost in the second period dropping eight points on three field goals and a pair of free throws to give a 29-16 half time lead.

Vinson’s offense continued through the second half outscoring the Wonders 19-8 to secure the win.

Henson led C-K’s scoring with seven points.

The Lady Tiger’s second win came Thursday over Wayne in another offensive showdown, 49-16.

Bailey, Riggs and Vic Asbury all put up double digit performances in the win. Bailey finished with 12, Riggs dropped 13 and Asbury led all with 15 points.

Vinson’s defense came on strong early holding Wayne to only one point in the first period. The second period proved to be no different pushing Vinson to a 28-6 half time lead.

Asbury’s pair of three-pointers pushed Vinson’s lead out of reach for the Pioneer’s rounding out their eight county win.
