NEW YORK (AP) _ The Dow Jones industrial average is up five points in today's early going. Losers on the New York Stock Exchange hold a 7-5 lead over gainers.

The Nasdaq Composite Index is up 30 points and the S&P 500 Index is up two points.

Analysts say the market may fall victim to some selling today, as investors square up their positions ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Given the big gains for the major market averages in recent weeks, it could be time for some profit-taking.

Trading volume is expected to tail off rather dramatically this week, with Wall Street closed on Thursday.

There will be a shortened trading session on Friday.
