Boulder County Under Air Quality Advisory Until Tuesday Afternoon Due to Visibility
Boulder County and the Denver metro area are under an air quality action day advisory until 4 p.m. Tuesday due to low visibility and fine particulates.
According to a news release, “Poor visibility and an exceedance of the state visibility standard are expected on Tuesday. Otherwise, good or moderate air quality conditions are expected. No other air quality advisories are in effect.
“Limited atmospheric mixing on Tuesday will result in moderate to poor visibility.”
Indoor burning is restricted and residents are asked to limit driving. People with health issues who are sensitive to air quality should avoid prolonged exposure or heavy exertion on Tuesday, according to the release.
“Moderate concentrations of fine particulates initially will be mainly confined to the Denver metro area on Monday, but could spread to other northern Front Range locations on Tuesday, including Boulder, Ft. Collins, Greeley, and surrounding areas.,” the release states.
