_ Amare Stoudemire, Suns, had 34 points and 10 rebounds to lead Phoenix to a 108-103 win over Memphis.
San Antonio made nine of its first 10 shots and then outscored Denver by 20 points in the second quarter of a 104-76 victory Wednesday night in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series. The Spurs missed 17 straight shots down the stretch in their Game 1 loss.
STRONG IN DEFEAT
Gilbert Arenas scored 39 points in Washington's 113-103 loss to Chicago on Wednesday night. The Wizards trail the first-round playoff series 2-0. ... Memphis' Pau Gasol had 28 points and 16 rebounds in a 108-103 loss to Phoenix.
Phoenix beat Memphis 108-103 Wednesday night to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series. Only seven teams have come back from 2-0 deficits to win a best-of-seven series, although Houston did it twice against the Suns _ in the 1994 and 1995 Western Conference semifinals.
