18-year-old Hurt In Crash With Cement Mixer
ROARING BROOK TWP. — An 18-year-old Jefferson Twp. woman went to the hospital this morning when a cement mixer struck her car in Roaring Brook Twp., state police at Dunmore said.
Kaila A. Ransom lost control driving north on an icy state Route 435 at about 8:42 a.m. and struck a guard rail not far from Interstate 380.
Her 2003 Hyundai Elantra started spinning.
A cement mixer, also traveling north, collided with the Hyundai’s driver side and sent it spinning into a guard rail again, state police said.
The driver of the cement mixer, Joseph Zelno, 65, of Archbald, was uninjured.
The extent of Ransom’s injuries were unknown; troopers said she went to Geisinger Community Medical Center.
