AFR: Crews pull man from house fire in NE Albuquerque
Firefighters rescued a man from a blaze at a fourplex apartment in northeast Albuquerque Friday morning.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue Lt. Albert Herren said the man will survive and the fire was contained to a single room of the home. No other injuries were reported.
He said the fire broke out around 9:45 a.m. in a duplex on the 300 block of General Marshall, near Copper and Wyoming NE.
Herren said when crews tried to enter the unit they had to adjust their approach after being driven out by “intense heat.”
He said crews soon realized a man was trapped in a bathroom adjacent to the fire.
Herren said the man was rescued and taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
