Longmont police are searching for a suspect who unlawfully entered a home and assaulted someone early Tuesday morning.

The man entered a home on Snowmass Place through an unlocked door and assaulted someone inside around 4 a.m., according to Sgt. Matthew Cage. The suspect did not know the residents inside the home.

Cage wouldn’t release more information about the incident, but said it is “pretty alarming.”

Police were working on an arrest warrant for the suspect Tuesday morning. They did not have more information to release Tuesday afternoon, but said they would send out a news release by the end of the day.

Officers are searching for the suspect with K-9s. Cage believed the man was no longer in the area of the assault Tuesday morning, but he didn’t know Tuesday morning to where he may have fled.
