Flyers Make Ramsay Head Coach

June 8, 2000

VOORHEES, N.J. (AP) _ Craig Ramsay, who led the Philadelphia Flyers to within one game of the Stanley Cup finals after stepping in for friend and ailing coach Roger Neilson, was hired as head coach today.

Ramsay had finished the regular season with a 16-8-1 mark after Neilson stepped aside in February for cancer treatment. The Flyers made it through two rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs and lost to the New Jersey Devils in seven games in the Eastern Conference finals.
