FREDERICK “FRED” JAMES TURNER, 49, of Douglasville, Ga., passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018, in Tranquility of Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga. He was born January 16, 1969, in Huntington, W.Va., to Herbert and Naomia Turner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonna Denise Turner. Along with his parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son, Jaron Turner (Tekelia) of Powder Springs, Ga.; three brothers, Herbert Turner Jr., (Mimi) of Doraville, Ga., Thomas Turner of Barboursville, W.Va., and John Turner (Lori) of Huntington, W.Va.; two sisters, Sandra Clausen of Douglasville, Ga., and Jacqueline Smith of Barboursville, W.Va.; two half sisters, Tina Palmer of South Point, Ohio and Natalie Turner of Milledgeville, Ga.; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Fred would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be producing music, socializing, and dancing to his heart’s content. Love, laughter, and music are guaranteed. He left instructions for his family and friends to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed. The family will be having a celebration of his life upon his return to his home in Barboursville, W.Va. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Davis-Struempf Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
