Woman Charged With DUI in Chicago Crash
CHICAGO (AP) _ A 29-year-old woman was charged Friday with drunken driving in a crash involving a church van that sent 14 adults and children to area hospitals, police said.
Velia Restaino of suburban Dolton was also charged with driving with a suspended license, not having insurance and failing to stop at a red light, said Officer Hector Alfaro.
The vehicle Restaino was driving ran a red light Thursday night near the University of Chicago campus and collided with the van from Metropolitan Apostolic Church and another vehicle, Alfaro said.
All 14 people taken to area hospitals were in stable condition, he said.
