Orchids and Onions: Tuesday, January 9, 2019

January 8, 2019

Another beautiful day in Havasu...

Onions to those people who complaint about boats and trailers in driveways. Most chose this beautiful city because of its recreational activities and it offers freedom from HOAs, allowing us to park our recreational vehicles conveniently on our own property.

Orchids to Cristina at Road Runner Supply for helping us with our broken mop bucket. She took the time to try to repair it and then offered to contact her supplier. Cristina provided wonderful customer service.

Onions to people complaining about barking dogs. Do what my father-in-law did, if the mutts barking at night when you’re trying to sleep, go knock on their door. If you can’t sleep the owners can’t sleep either. After a few visits from you something’s got to give.

Orchids to Cindy at the boat launch that goes to the casino. It was cold outside and she told some passengers to sit inside due to the cold weather, and she got their boat passes for them. She was so thoughtful. We need more caring people like her around.

Onions to a warning sticker for drivers over 60. I am appreciably over 60, have driven over a million miles, mostly commercial, and have been in two accidents. Both times I was rear-ended by a twenty-something year old. Who should have a warning sticker?

Orchids to the mysterious “Secret Santa” who has placed a lovely box of delicious cookies on our doorstep for the past six years at a Deer Run Residence. We thank you for your generosity. God Bless. S and B

Orchids to any increased police presence on S. McCulloch near Calvary. 6 p.m. Sunday, three Razors flew by, going at least 55 m.p.h., some white pick-up screaming through full throttle. It’s like living on a raceway. Not impressed.

Orchids to LHC for not having a homeless shelter. Build it and they will come, and stay, and invite their friends. Visit LA (the once beautiful SFV) and Orange counties; you’ll see why.

Onions to the new center divider on Lake Havasu Ave. That’s got to be the dumbest decision of all time. North bound traffic now has to go around the block or make a “U” turn to turn left into some businesses like the car wash. Just plain dumb and a waste of money!
