MENTOR, Ohio (AP) _ The proverbial bull in the china shop could take a lesson from the 2-year- old buck deer that rambled through the china department of a rental shop and escaped without breaking a single dish.

The deer crashed through the front glass door Sundy at Sun Rental, which leases tools, trucks, production equipment and party supplies, including china and crystal.

Owner Tom Felice said he and several customers were in the hardware section of the store when the buck was spotted in the parking lot. A loud crash followed a few seconds later.

Felice heard another crash and sent some employees to investigate. They found the front door broken, along with a rear, stockroom window.

″Nothing in the store was broken,″ Felice said. ″He must have just jumped through the front door, ran down the aisle and jumped through the back storeroom window.″

The deer escaped from its glass-jumping escapade with cuts and left behind an antler in the store during its jaunt.

BELLE VERNON, Pa. (AP) - The bright red suit with the fake ermine trim comes with everything but the ho-ho-ho and is offered in three sizes: big, bigger and biggest.

″The place is crazy this time of year,″ said Halco Co. vice president Jan Greenberg.

Halco’s 25 employees make ″tens of thousands″ of Santa Claus suits, beards and hats each year, Greenberg said.

Halco sells only in bulk, so most of its customers are stores, some as far away as Iceland and Guam, Greenberg said.

It also makes Easter Bunny costumes, but that’s another season.
