Beatrice Regional Orchestra’s 10th season is underway
The Beatrice Regional Orchestra kicked off its 10th season with its “A Celebration of Culture” concert at the Hevelone Center, Wednesday evening.
Conductor Kevin Boesiger led the orchestra through a diverse selection of pieces, including “A Matador’s Tale,” by Mark Lortz, and a selection from Georges Bizet’s “L’Arlesienne Suite No. 2.”
These pieces were followed by Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “English Folk Songs Suite” and part one of Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite.
Finally, the orchestra performed the finale from Ottorino Respighi’s “Pine’s of Rome” and selections from Gershwin.
In celebration of the its 10th season, each of the orchestra’s four concerts will feature new music and music from previous performances.
The Beatrice Regional Orchestra performs again on Dec. 4 with its concert celebrating Christmas. On March 12, “A Celebration of Music” concert will be held followed by the season’s final concert on May 14, entitled “A Celebration of the Orchestra.”
All performances are in the Hevelone Center at Beatrice High School.
