Heard on the Street: Ulta Beauty to open Rochester store soon
Local Ulta Beauty fans will soon get an early Christmas present.
The new Rochester Ulta Beauty store will open at 10 a.m. on Dec. 14 in the Golden Hill Shopping Center, 2238 Third Ave. SE, along South Broadway.
The first 100 customers on each day of Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 will receive a “beauty treat” ranging from $5 up to $100. Those first 100 will also get 10 percent off their first salon or facial appointment.
“Our Ulta Beauty experts are excited to bring the fun of beauty to Rochester beauty lovers,” stated Ulta’s Integrated Marketing Manager Casey Foxen in an announcement of the opening.
The Rochester store will carry 20,000 beauty products from 500 brands, as well as feature a full-service salon.
Bolingbrook, Ill.-based Ulta, described as “the largest beauty retailer in the United States,” has more than 1,160 stores.
Ulta will be the latest store to open in the new Golden Hill Shopping Center. The center’s lineup — Marshalls, Carter’s/OshKosh B’gosh, Ulta and Kirklands — features retailers that are new or returning to Rochester.
Twin Cities-based Ryan Cos. has been working on a Golden Hill project since 2015, when the company first started talking to Rochester Public Schools about buying the former Golden Hill School building.
Eventually, Ryan bought it for $1.7 million, leveled the long-empty 36,000-square-foot school and built the 54,500-square-foot complex on the 8.8 acre site.
