Police identify bodies found in Providence River
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police in Rhode Island have identified two bodies that were recovered from the Providence River near the Hurricane Barrier.
Providence Police said Monday the two men were 44-year-old Sean McElroy and 49-year-old Larry Horton, both of Providence.
A worker for a company that maintains the barrier discovered one body while removing debris Friday.
Authorities found the second body while retrieving the first from the water.
Police say the men’s deaths do not appear suspicious.
The state medical examiner is performing autopsies on the two men to determine their cause of death.
