McEuen mixes humor, music at Shagway Arts Barn concert

September 15, 2018

HAMLIN TWP. — John McEuen, the founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band who recently released an autobiography, “The Life I Picked,” and a new CD, “Made in Brooklyn,” delighted the Shagway Arts Barn audience of more than 200 people Wednesday night with good humor and good music.

“It was far more than I expected,” Dan Mahynski, a fan of McEuen and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band for much of his life, said. “I can relate to all of it.”

Mahynski, who plays bass with the local band, The Road Less Traveled, called McEuen an “icon.”
