Sally Hale named ACoB for Pennsylvania
PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Sally Carpenter Hale, news editor in the Portland, Ore., bureau of The Associated Press for 13 years, has been promoted to assistant chief of bureau for Pennsylvania.
The appointment was announced Monday by Philadelphia Chief of Bureau Linda Stowell.
Hale, 42, joined the AP in Dallas in 1979 after working as a copy editor for The Dallas Morning News. She became news editor in Portland in 1984.
A native of Oklahoma City who grew up in Houston, Hale is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She succeeds Herbert G. Pelkey, who has retired.
