VIRGINIA WATER, England (AP) _ Scotland's Colin Montgomerie took control of the Volvo PGA on Saturday, shooting a 7-under-par 65 to take a four-stroke lead after the second round.

``Sure I expect to win. If you were in my position, you'd expect it too,'' said Montgomerie, who finished off a first-round 67 on Saturday morning in the rain-delayed tournament.

Montgomerie won the 1998 tournament and also took the World Match Play title on the Wentworth course, just a 15-minute drive from his home in Surrey.

Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke shot his second straight 68 for a second-place tie with Scotland's Andrew Coltart and Sweden's Robert Karlsson.

Thirty-nine players did not complete their second rounds after two days of on and off rain. The best of them was Australian Richard Green, who was 7 under with five holes to play.
