Man breaks into Brooklyn home, punches 88-year-old resident
NEW YORK (AP) — New York police say a man broke into a Brooklyn home on Christmas morning and punched an 88-year-old woman in the face after rummaging through her belongings.
The home invasion happened about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment building in Coney Island.
Police say the man forced the woman into her bedroom and sat her on the bed. They say he attacked the woman after she tried to get up and again after she alerted an emergency medical service with a panic button.
She was treated at a local hospital.
The woman’s niece told PIX11 she will likely require surgery for a broken orbital bone.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
