Mohegan Sun-bound performer arrested at airport
Country singer Gretchen Wilson, arrested Tuesday night as she got off a plane at Bradley International Airport, is scheduled to appear at a private event tonight at Mohegan Sun.
The show is still on, a Mohegan Sun spokesman said today.
State police were dispatched to Bradley, in Windsor Locks, in response to a report of a minor disturbance aboard an incoming flight. While interviewing Wilson on the jetway, “she became belligerent towards the troopers, and caused a disturbance,” police said.
Wilson, 45, of Lebanon, Tenn., was charged with second-degree breach of peace and was scheduled to appear today in Enfield Superior Court.
A number of media outlets reported that Wilson was involved in an altercation with another passenger on the flight.
Her first single, “Redneck Woman”, was released in early 2004 and was a hit on the country charts.
