JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) _ Sophomore forward Travis Billings was dismissed from the Jacksonville State basketball team Wednesday for violating team rules.

Billings had been on suspension before Wednesday’s announcement.

``We had some issues with Travis that we didn’t get resolved,″ coach Mike LaPlante said in a statement. ``Unfortunately, we had to dismiss him from the team.″

The 6-foot-8 Billings played in 13 games as a freshman, averaging 0.7 points and 0.9 rebounds.
