Bob’s Chain Becomes Independent Co.
MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) _ Bob’s Stores, a casual clothing and footwear retailer, has been sold by its parent company, CVS Corp., to a group headed by store management.
The top managers of the clothing outlets and Citicorp Venture Capital Ltd. bought the 29-store chain Tuesday. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Bob’s Stores has stores in New England, New York and New Jersey. Rhode Island-based Melville Corp., now CVS, bought the chain in 1990.
