GONZALES, La. (AP) _ Crawford A. Bishop, owner and publisher of the Gonzales Weekly, died Wednesday. He was 67.

A multi-talented man, Bishop acquired the Gonzales Weekly in 1970 and ran it until his death.

Bishop flew his own airplane, raised cattle, sheep, alligators, chickens and hogs, painted with oils and watercolors and was a ham radio operator. While at Louisiana State University, he was a member of the band, the track team and led cheers while wearing the LSU Tiger mascot costume at football games. He graduated from LSU in 1955.

Bishop is survived by his wife, Arlene Epstein Bishop; two sons, a daughter and two sisters.
