Search for Missing Tewksbury Woman Continues
TEWKSBURY -- Police are again asking for help finding the missing 27-year-old Tewksbury woman who they now say may be in danger.
Yessenia Roman, who suffers from mental illness, was last seen by Tewksbury State Hospital staff members Dec. 14, according to a Tewksbury Police Department press release.
Roman’s mother has told police she believes the missing woman may be off her required medication, which would present a danger to her well being.
Police had reason to believe Roman was in Lawrence, the release states. A transportation service driver told detectives he picked Roman up at the Tewksbury State Hospital -- where she resides -- and dropped her off at the Union Street area of Lawrence at around 6 p.m. Dec. 14.
Roman is 5 foot, 3 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing an olive green jacket and black leggings.
The 27-year-old also has ties to the cities of Chelsea and Malden.
“Continuous attempts to locate her via her cell phone have proven to be fruitless as the phone has been turned off (with no outgoing calls) since she left the State Hospital grounds on Dec. 14,” the release states.
Police also stated in an email her mother has been posting flyers throughout the area for 17 days.
Anyone with information on Roman’s whereabouts can contact the Tewksbury Police Department at 978-851-7373.
