TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) _ Apparently desperate over his sister’s worsening illness, 66-year-old James Leon Russell called 911, asking emergency workers to send two body bags to his home.
Responding to the call, police found the bodies of Russell and his 77-year-old sister, Joanne, shot to death on the balcony.
A note on the kitchen explained:
``To the cops: I’m tired of living, and my sister Joanne’s Alzheimer’s disease is deteriorating rapidly. Therefore I’m putting us both out of our misery. Call it euthanasia,″ the one-page note said. Russell’s wallet and will were on the table with the note, police said.
