Police investigating possible abduction of Bridgeport woman

BRIDGEPORT- State and local police have foiled a suspected kidnapping after stopping a car on I-95 near exit 6 at 10:12 a.m.

An All Points bulletin was put shortly before 10 a.m. this morning.

Both the suspect and the victim are reported as being in the car. Both are being brought back to Bridgeport.

Earlier there were reports that an Orchard Street woman was taken away from her children put into car and driven away.

Witnesses provided the name of the suspect and an All Points bulletin was put out.

State Police recognized the car on the Turnpike and gave pursuit. Bridgeport police were sent to the scene of the stop.

Earlier local police suspected the car may have been headed to West Haven and also had information in might be in Ansonia. Both departments were contacted.

Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch confirmed that Bridgeport Police contacted his department to search for a car.Officers were assigned to assist in the Ansonia portion of the investigba;tion.
