Dracut’s Zwicker Serving in Boston Schools
A Dracut woman is giving back by completing a year of public service in education as a City Year Boston AmeriCorps member.
Nicole Zwicker is serving at Guild Elementary School in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston.
City Year Boston AmeriCorps members provide support to Boston Public School students in attendance, positive behavior and course work in English and math, and ensure students stay on track to high-school graduation. They serve as critical mentors, tutors and role models in 29 of Boston’s public schools, reaching more than 15,000 students every day.
Zwicker is part of a network of more than 3,000 City Year AmeriCorps members who serve more than 200,000 students each day in nearly 300 public schools nationwide. City Year’s work is made possible by support from the Corporation for National and Community Service, school-district partnerships, and private philanthropy from corporations, foundations and individuals.
