Gold: Missed chances have Canes on brink
The time of death of the Eastern Conference Final between the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes has yet to be determined. But, the cause, well, the cause of death isn’t too hard to figure out.
The Canes have simply not been able to convert their chances.
We can talk all day long about Tuukka Rask and Boston’s devastating power play. But, Tuesday night, in a Game 3 that they had to have, the Hurricanes played their game and still lost. And, while Rask made 35 saves, several of them excellent stops, there were still too many relatively easy opportunities that Carolina just could not convert.
