8 deaths attributed to flu in Delaware so far this season
DOVER, Del. (AP) — Delaware health officials have announced three recent flu-related deaths, bringing the total number of people in the state who have died from flu this season to eight.
Delaware State News reports the state Division of Public Health says the most recent victim is an 83-year-old man from New Castle County, with underlying health conditions.
In addition, a 41-year-old New Castle County woman with suspected underlying health complications and a 74-year-old Sussex County woman with multiple underlying health conditions died due to complications from the flu.
The eight who have so far this flu season range in age from 41 years old to 83 years old.
State health officials say it’s not late to get a flu vaccine and encourage people to do so.
