CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say a two people were killed when a tractor-trailer rig veered across the median of Interstate 10 on the southeastern outskirts of metro Phoenix and overturned and caught fire after colliding with three other vehicles.

The wreck Wednesday south of Chandler has closed westbound I-10 in that area and the state Department of Transportation says drivers face long delays and should consider alternate routes.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the truck was traveling eastbound on I-10 before it collided with the westbound vehicles.

According to the DPS, two adults and two children were injured and transported to a hospital.

There is no estimated time for reopening westbound I-10.
