Nebraska Corn Growers Association holds its annual meeting
LINCOLN - The Nebraska Corn Growers Association held its annual meeting Wednesday and highlighted a variety of topics.
Executive Director Kelly Brunkhorst said the meetings are a great way to update policy if need be, talk about resolutions, and reach out to membership to see what’s on their minds.
Brunkhorst tells News Talk WJAG there were a couple of key topics focused on during the meeting.
“As we look at the pure economics of our industry there’s big concerns. We hopefully can look for opportunities in both a policy, but also a market development perspective. Another is weather, weather is going to impact us greatly as we looked at the opportunity presented through the growing season which was very positive, but also as we got into the harvest season which was very negative.”
Brunkhorst said one of the speakers was Eric Snodgrass, the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois.
He said Snodgrass gave his thoughts on last year’s weather situation and how this coming year’s weather forecast is shaping up.
